Education and Training
I graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor's in the Science of Nursing in 1995. I was trained as a critical care nurse working with heart transplant patients, as well as in the cardiac care and emergency department. I worked as a nurse in New Orleans, Hawaii, and Sacramento. I graduated from California State University at Sacramento with a Master's in Social Work in 2002. I worked for several years as a clinical social worker in the employee assistance program at UC Davis, counseling the staff and faculty at both the medical center and university. In 2002, I started my private practice in Davis before moving it to Sacramento in 2007. I am trained in the Mitchell model of Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. I have facilitated a number of support groups for caregivers.
I was involved with the Sierra Institute for Contemporary Gestalt Therapy in Sacramento 2004-2008. I have trained in all three levels of Relational Life Training with Terry Real. I have completed the Level One training in Internal Family Systems and hope to continue my evolution in my IFS work.
